Coming Attractions

Dear followers, we were weeks behind on our posting, and then embarked on our Great European Tour (two weeks, three cities, and one small country), putting us even further behind.  So what we are going to do here is give you a preview of the blogs yet to be fully posted.  Stay tuned to see...

the Polzins visit (June 20-30)

Our daughter Amy, son-in-law Scott, and grandkids Eliott and Lucy made the trek to see us.  We went to Venice with them for three days.

Dave and Melissa (July 2-4)

Dave and Melissa Short were the first persons to block out their time on our calendar, and almost the last to visit.  We spent a great day with them in Florence as well as low-key evenings in our garden.

Expat 4th of July

We were invited to a traditional barbeque, complete with hamburgers and hot dogs, hosted by Anne Kaplan at her beautiful restored country home in the heart of Tuscany!
Amsterdam (July 7-10)

The first leg of our Great European Tour was to Amsterdam, the home of museums dedicated to Rembrandt, Vermeer, Van Gogh, and the history of cannibis.

Copenhagen (July 10-13)

This was Carmen's first return to the city of castles and the Little Mermaid since she was 16.

Switzerland (July 13-16)

After two big cities, it was time to rent a car and do a road trip through some of the most picturesque scenery in the world.  One big surprise: there are no roads to Murren, where our hotel was on the second night--full story when we do the full post;-)

Barcelona (July 16-19)

Before arriving, we were only vaguely aware of the dramatic architecture in this city.  We spent most of our time discovering it (and the rest eating tapas).
